Magical Mondays Return August 05 2019

I'm happy to be back! My surgery went very well, however recuperation has been long and, might I say, painful. I had so hoped to get lots of stitching time in, but I learned the hard way that trying to hold a large canvas over my face and stitch just doesn't work out to well. I'll spare you the details.

They took the cast off last Wednesday and while I still have to elevate my leg/foot some, it's not as bad as it was for sure. I've graduated to a walking boot that I can actually remove, so I can just sit with my leg extended and stitch! And stitching I have been doing. I have another surgery in late September, so I'm hoping to have completed the stitching on the StoryBook stockings prior to that time.

I was hoping to receive some work-in-progress photos by now...c'mon, post them on my Facebook Page!

Here's what I've accomplished in the past few days...

Cover of The Magic Gingerbread Stocking StoryBook Stocking

The Gingerbread House Door:

FIBER: Burmilana Wool/Acrylic Blend, use 4 Strands  COLOR:  #3506  STITCH: Wild Goose Stitch

NOTE: This is the same fiber that I used on the walls of the Gingerbread House, just a different stitch so that the door looks different than the walls.

The Gingerbread House Dormers:

FIBER: Burmilana Wool/Acrylic Blend, use 4 Strands  COLOR:  #3506  STITCH: Byzantine 2 stitch.

NOTE: This is the same fiber that I used on the walls of the Gingerbread House, just a different stitch so that the dormers look different than the walls.

The Red Gift Under The Tree:

ROW 1 FIBER: Kreinik Metallic #12 Braid, use 2 Strands  COLOR:  #003 STITCH: Victorian Step

ROW 2 FIBER: Rainbow Flair  COLOR: Red  #F530 STITCH: Victorian Step

BOX SIDES: FIBER: Kreinik #12 Braid, 1 Strand COLOR: 003 HL  STITCH: Tent

NOTE:  As you can see, I left a circle in the center of the "Bow". As I will be adding a Miniature bow later on and there is no sense stitching an area that will be totally covered up.

Cookies on the plate...

COOKIES SHADOW FIBER: DMC Cotton Floss, use 6 Strands  COLOR: Dark Brown #3031  STITCH: Tent

COOKIES FIBER:Weeks Dye Works Pearl #5  COLOR: Pecan  #1228P5  STITCH: Double Alternating Nobuko Stitch

NOTE: I'm not sure yet, but, I think that I'll try colonial Knots for the Chocolate Chips.

I'll add a couple of more photos and stitches tomorrow to bring you all up to speed.

Feel free to share this with your friends and family who enjoy needlework and are looking to create a fabulous family heirloom, or a wonderful gift for a newborn.

Happy Stitching...and post some photos on my Facebook Page, please!
